I am an advocate for open education, open resources, open textbooks, and open access.
I actively participate on university committees on open education, have adapted and remixed several sources to create a customized open textbook on business communication, have collaborated to create an open textbook on teaching and learning activities for business communications, use open resources whenever possible in my classes, and support others who engage in open education. I have volunteered my time to copy-edit two additional textbooks, one on electromagnetics and one on scientific inquiry in social work. I was the 2020 Open Education Research Fellow at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and completed a Research Ethics Board-approved research project.
